The Ontario Co-operative Association strives to improve the regulatory and legislative environment for Ontario's co-operatives. Our policy and advocacy work focuses on creating a level playing field for co-operatives, while driving awareness of co-operative innovation and increasing understanding of the benefits of co-operatives to the economy.

We accomplish this by bringing co-operatives together, to help raise awareness of our business model and to campaign on vital issues of relevance and benefit to co-operatives. As such, we are the common voice of Ontario's co-operatives for government.

In 2013, we joined forces with our francophone counterpart, the Conseil de la coopération de l'Ontario (CCO), to form a joint Government Relations Committee. This active voluntary committee is comprised of individuals from both OCA and CCO member co-operatives, who are skilled and experienced in - and passionate about - building and strengthening our relationship with government. The committee is key to helping direct and execute our government relations mandate and goals.
