WHAT: The 37th annual Directors' Forum will explore the Board's Role in Societal TransformationCredit unions, co-operatives and mutuals believe that the role of the organization is to serve our members and communities. This purpose means our boards should also be considering our role in society and how we can work to improve society as organizations. This year we will consider - on the heels of the pandemic - what the role of the board is in societal transformation. Check out the media release from November 18!

WHEN: Thursday, November 25 to Saturday, November 27, 2021.The DFC Board continues to monitor the pandemic and the vaccination rollout in the months and weeks leading up to the in-person conference, and will abide by any Government mandated rules and regulations for gatherings, should they be permitted at that time. 

WHO: The Annual Forum is designed specifically by and for system directors. This year, we are extending an invitation to both directors of co-operatives and directors of credit unions across Canada. The majority of the topics that we will be exploring and the discussions that will be encouraged, will benefit from a wider lens and a greater diversity of participants from the co-operative movement. 

WHERE: The Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale. The plenary sessions have been moved to a much larger meeting space at the venue, to ensure safe social distancing for all delegates. This will be maintained despite the recent (October 2021) changes that no longer require meeting and event spaces to practice social distancing measures. We have also been assured by the Hilton that they are adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for their guests (view their Cleanstay Guest Experience brochure). There will also be an option for delegates to participate in the entire conference virtually this year.

VIRTUAL SERIES: In addition to the November conference, we will be producing a new series of online governance sessions between January and June 2022. All Directors who register for the November conference will be able to attend the virtual sessions free of charge.
