Ken Chan

Director

Ken Chan has served on the boards of Alterna Savings since 2012 and Alterna Bank since 2013. He joined the Directors’ Forum Executive in 2019 and is currently a Board Director on the new Directors’ Forum Co-operative entity (since October 2020).

Ken brings leadership experience from the private, non-profit and public sectors. He is Vice President, Administration at Brock University. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Deputy Minister in the Ontario Government. Ken was Public Affairs Director at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Vice President for advocacy, research and clinical programs at Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

An experienced director, Ken is on the boards of the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre and ALS Canada. His prior board experience included roles at in the health and education sectors. He holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Ken has a Master of Forensic Accounting from the University of Toronto, a MBA from the City University of Seattle and a BA from Simon Fraser University. He has completed corporate governance and leadership programs at Said Business School (Oxford University), Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) and CPA Canada.
