The Provincial Co-operative Conference takes place every two years with the objective to:

  • Highlight and celebrate the successes of Ontario co-operatives, credit unions and caisses populaires
  • Inform participants through a variety of relevant plenary and workshops sessions
  • Facilitate networking and information-sharing among co-operatives, co-op supporters, funders and developers, and
  • Showcase the achievements of distinguished co-operators and organizations.

The most recent conference "People, Planet and Prosperity: Co-operatives and Sustainable Development" was held in Toronto in September 2017, and included a variety of presentations and roundtable discussions, led by expert guest speakers from within the co-operative and credit union sectors. There was plenty of networking throughout the day, and delegates later joined the delegates of the Directors' Forum at a Banquet & Fundraiser hosted by OCA in partnership with the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada. OCA will not be hosting a provincial co-operative conference in 2019. Stay tuned for information on the Spirit Awards and our Annual General Meeting to take place in the fall, in the coming months.
