2017 Banquet Dinner & Fundraiser Highlights
On Thursday, September 28, 2017, On Co-op, in partnership with the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF) hosted a very special evening to celebrate Ontario's co-operatives and credit unions, and to commemorate our 15th and CDF's 70th anniversaries!
Leaders, directors, stakeholders, employees and members of co-operatives from across the province were invited to join us for the celebratory evening, which included an opening keynote address by Kelly McGiffin, President and CEO of FirstOntario Credit Union and CDF Board Director, a three-course seated meal, fantastic live entertainment by The Dreamboats, a live auction, and the presentation of CCA's/CDF's 2017 Ontario Global Co-operator Award.
The evening provided a unique networking opportunity for co-operative and credit union leaders in Ontario, closed off the 2017 Provincial Co-op Conference which took place earlier in the day, and launched the 33rd annual Credit Union Directors' Forum, which began the next day.
Most importantly, the event helped to raise awareness and $4,200 in funds through a live auction and raffle draw, for the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada, who work tirelessly to alleviate poverty through their co-op and credit union development programs around the world.
A big thanks to the following organizations for their sponsorship and support of this year's banquet!
